The NSNA Education committee has created a system to provide transparency to the US-Nagarathars and Student candidates in India about our services and decisions made about the scholarship awards. The System ESAP (Education Scholarship Application Processing system) - developed is an active database to store and maintain all the application and sponsors information and generate reports for the website on regular basis.

Note to all applicants: On line web application would be ready shortly and applications can be submitted on line for the year 2010 scholarships.
We need recommendation letter from Nagarathar kovil or local Nagarathar sangam in order to be considered for education assistance. This is applicable for new applicants and old applicants. If you have not submitted this along with the application please do so immediately.
For those who send their applications by postal service, please use a good envelope. We received many applications damaged and some of them without any contents in it.

The Nagarathar Sangam of North America offers FIVE types of scholarships.
How to apply?
| Merit |
NSNA's Prestigious Merit scholarships carry a stipend of Rs.25000 for the first year and Rs.10000 for the successive years of study for a maximum period of study of 4 years. The candidates are selected during August-November each year based on the applied students with the top +2 marks and whose annual family income is less than the set amount by NSNA. Completed application form, +2 Marksheet Copy, College admission/tution fees receipt, Proof of family income level is required for consideration. The number of Merit awards each year is limited and dependent on the sponsorships available.

ANSWERS stands for “American Nagarathar Sangam – Win Educational Reward Scholarships”. The ANSWERS scholarship is awarded every year by NSNA Education committee to deserving candidates. The award carries a stipend of Rs. 10,000 per year and is given to students who have completed their plus two examinations and are ready for a Professional degree course. The selection of candidates is based on their marks in their plus two examination and family income level. The ANSWERS stipend will be awarded to the selected candidates every year until they finish their academic career (no time limit).

| The Dynamic |
THE DYNAMIC refers to “Timely Help for Education by Donating Your Name And Money In College Scholarships”. The DYNAMIC scholarship is awarded every year by NSNA Education committee to Professional College students. These scholarships are established by individual donor(s) and are named after them. The selection of candidates is based on a scoring system (50% merit and 50% based on family income level). This award pays Rs. 10,000 per year per student until he/she graduates (or a maximum 4 years) and upon graduation a new student will be selected.

| Greater Chettinadu |
The Greater Chettinadu scholarship is awarded by NSNA Education committee to Non professional students (Diploma and Vocational Training students, who typically do this after their 10th Std.). The selection of candidates is based on a scoring system (25% merit and 75% based on family income level). Proof of family income level is required for consideration. This award carries a stipend of Rs. 5000 per year until the student graduates (or a maximum of 3 years) and upon graduation a new student will be selected.

| Yearly |
The NSNA also gives yearly scholarship of Rs. 3000.00 (Yearly) / Rs.4000 (YES) per year. Any degree seeking Nagarathar student who is financially weak can apply for this scholarship. There is no age restriction for the applicants.

The deadline for all application materials to be received by NSNA is September 15th 2010.
Our processing will start after Sept 15th, 2010, and the awards will be published on the web and scholarships will be disbursed by December 31st, 2010
Scholarship application and scholarship guidelines are the same for all scholarships including Yearly.
Applications can be sent by mail or email – Registered mail is NOT necessary and will delay the process.
