2009 news:

Richmond area Nagarathars gathered at Alagappan and Lakshmi's house to celebrate Pillayar Nonbu on December 22, 2009. Local nagarthars and their guests sang prayer songs and Mr. A. Subramanian, father of Alagappan, visiting from Singapore distributed Ezhais to everyone.
A sumptuous pillayar nobu special dinner, prepared by Richmond area Achis was enjoyed by everyone. A total of 55 Ezhais were distributed.

2010 News:

Nagarathars in the Washington DC area have had a fun filled and busy start to 2010. About 45 Nagarathar adults and kids went for a snow tubing trip to Ski Liberty on February 20th. The achis did a wonderful job of coordinating a sumptuous potluck lunch and loads of snacks, coffee and hot chocolate. Everyone had a great time and it was a great way to kick off the activities.

This was followed by a Medical Camp for Bhutanese refugees, organized by HACSI, a local non profit organization. About 10 nagarathar adults volunteered at the medical camp and a few others helped with coordinating breakfast and lunch for the refugees.

Divya Palani's mom Solai Chidambaram conducted a cooking class for the DC Achis in Meenal & Manikandan's house in Chantilly. Lot of our achis participated and learnt a variety of new dishes.

Rest of the spring season is also packed with a lot of activities like a treasure hunt, various entertainment programs at TNF convention etc.
