Pillaiyar Nonbu was celebrated by Bay Area Nagarathars in a grand
manner as per our tradition. On Dec 25th 2009 about 150 families got
together in the Livermore Temple Hall, CA. The function kicked off at 2:30
PM with registration. Chettiars started off with preparing Ellai
followed by culturals and bajan by kids and elders. Ellai was
distributed by 7 elders and a total of 525 Ellai's were taken.
Everyone enjoyed authentic chettinad palakarams. Special thanks to the
next generation of kids who rose to the occasion by helping in various
activities, particularly serving food.

As Nagarathars are always known for their philanthropy, we had another
great year in Ellam.
