Nagarathar NRI (NANRI) Parents Association Formed
The parents of many NRI Nagarathars have formed an association called NANRI Parents Association in Chennai, India. With much of their family in foreign countries, they can now look to this association for social and emotional support and also as a way for them to contribute back to society in the form of charitable activities. This association also endeavors to preserve Nagarathar culture & heritage and also help NRI children during their visit to India.
NANRI Parents Association is in the process of working with Nagarathar associations around the world to help them in their charitable causes. NANRI Parents along with NSNA has already held a medical awareness camp at the Golden Singar Hotel & Mahal in Karaikudi on 19th December, 2010. In this camp, 9 doctors of different disciplines attended on more than 600 poor patients. It currently has its own charitable endeavors like helping many poor students of our community to study for CA.

This association has also felicitated Chess Sensation Sethuraman Panaiappan, the youngest Indian Grandmaster (at an even younger age than Vishwanathan Anand) and hopes to encourage more such Nagarathar youngsters to achieve such recognition. The association has also tied up with Annamalai University Alumni Club to provide accommodation close to the Chennai Airport at affordable prices for the NRI children visiting India. More such services are being planned. If your parents would like to join the association or for more information, please visit http://nanriparents.org or contact its president Mr. Sp. Singaram at (044) 28271419.
