Chandrasekar Meyyappan & Lalitha Chandrasekar's 25th Wedding Anniversary Celebration !
Chandrasekar Meyyappan and Lalitha Chandrasekar of Plainsboro, NJ, native of Shanmuganathapuram, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on March 21, 2010 at Arsha Vidya Gurukulam at Saylorsburg, PA, attended by Family and Friends.
With the blessing from Chandrasekar's Father, Lalitha's Parents, and family from all around the world, the event began with an auspicious homam in the morning at the temple's unique homam area attended by a few close family and friends, invoking the blessing of Lord Ganesha and Lord Dhakshinamoorthy. The homam was followed by a religious ceremony, including the exchange of garlands & anniversary rings and the traditional “Agni Valam“ and "Alaathi" accompanied by "Gowri Kalyana Vaibhogame" sung by achies. The "Bride & Groom" then went ahead to get the blessings of all the couple, who were blessed to have celebrated their own 25th anniversaries ! The temple priest performed a special Archana and Aarathi exclusively for the couple and their guests.
Following this traditional part of the program was the "celebratory" part of the event, where friends had decorated and prepared the party hall in the basement of the temple for the group to join in and celebrate. Sumptuous appetizers and "Neer More" was followed by a "couple‘s game" enjoyed by all, a short speech by their son, Thenappan Chandrasekar, two specially prepared songs (one for Mom and one for Dad !) by their daughter, Meena Chandrasekar. Several couple showered their wishes and blessings to the “bride & groom” with speeches, including advice for their 50th anniversary ! Lunch was delicious with the wonderful taste that is unique only to temple fare, followed by Chinese Cake and Badam Halwa from Grand Sweets (flown in from India for the event) !
All in all, the event turned out to be very memorable not just for the happy couple, but also for all those who attended. Everyone left the temple with a smile and a warm heart !
