The Kumbabishekam of the Aravayal Nagara Sivan Koil is slated for later part of this year. The temple is 180 years old and is in need of extensive repairs. Nagarathars in Aravayal have sponsored most of the repairs. The priest quarters are in a very bad shape and the plan is to build new quarters for them. For this renovation alone a sum of Rs.10 lakhs is needed, so that the priests can live there without any major maintenance for another 15 years. To meet the monthly recuring expenses of the temple, about Rs.15000 per month is needed, in order to meet this a sum of Rs.30 lakhs is needed (as the rate of interest from bank is 5 to 6%, the interest income from the deposit will be 15000 to 16000 will suffice for the monthly expenses of the temple). For these purposes and to meet the required funds in connection with the Kumbabishekam, Nagarathars in Aravayal are on a fund raising drive to collect money from India and abroad. On their behalf I am requesting you to contribute generously for this noble cause and get the blessings of Lord MeenakshiSundershwarar and Godess Kali Amman.
